The University of Notre Dame called on our design team to expand their satellite education facility for the Mendoza College of Business. Alongside the Executive MBA Center and a satellite facility for their College of Law, this is the third project we’ve helped the University of Notre Dame with in Chicago’s historic Railway Exchange Building. These additional spaces allow the College to serve not only the students who attend in person, but also Distance Learning students who attend class online.
The program includes a classroom for 54 persons and six breakout teaching rooms, all equipped with cameras, microphones, and large monitors to record and stream lectures. Common spaces support student and faculty mingling outside the classroom. Not unlike the Executive MBA Center, this design features a blend of modern glazing and traditional wood detailing, mirroring the client’s progressive pedagogy while recalling the architectural traditions of the University of Notre Dame's South Bend campus.
