Keeping pace with the thriving community of Madison and its needs will be easy at this community hospital. The facility, set to be built on a 42-acre greenfield site at the University of Wisconsin, was designed using LEAN concepts.
Providing healthcare design and LEAN speciality services, our team created an efficient and operationally effective hospital that will offer acute care, outpatient services, rehabilitation therapies, and sports performance, wellness, and fitness services, all with an ambulatory focus. Its lean design was based on targeted productivity goals, and was developed through a series of 3P (Production, Preparation, Process) events with interdisciplinary teams and administrative leaders from the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Authority.
Our design’s flexibility enables the use of emerging technology within clinical environments, promotes streamlined processes, and allows for future expansion phases. The systems, materials, architecture, and engineering used promises a sustainable campus (it will have LEED Silver certification). Thanks to LEAN design, this hospital is not only keeping pace with change and growth, it’s also staying ahead of it.
