Academic Facilities & Libraries
Learning in every space
Curricula, learning styles, teaching methods, and technology are constantly changing and evolving the look of the traditional classroom setting...
While we still see large auditoriums to accommodate big classes, and fixed tablet arm chairs, we’re more regularly providing designs to house moveable furniture, equipment, and even walls that can be configured to support team learning and group assignments. As technology becomes a more integral part of everyday life, it’s also natural for faculty to want the latest equipment available to support their course teachings. And students want it too, as they are typing away on their laptops or tablets, downloading course materials, and surfing the web for answers to questions that arise in group conversations. We understand that the intellectual life of academic facilities depends as much on the formal learning areas as it does on the dynamic, vibrant matrix of informal spaces that support chance encounters and productive discussions. It these, we design spaces for student, faculty, and staff interaction, and create a sense of place that is so critical in fostering a strong learning and campus community.
