Our Integrated Management System (IMS) is focused on providing a disciplined and accountable framework for how we provide services to our clients and communities. The scope of the system includes all critical business processes. Our IMS promotes transparent accountability through rigorous performance assessment, clarifies expectations for employees and management, facilitates formal and regular client feedback to promote continual improvement, and supports regulatory compliance. In addition, we have an ISO27001 certified Information Security Management System.
The IMS is certified to the following three internationally recognized International Standards Organization (ISO) standards: ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standard, ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management Standard, and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Standard. In addition, we have an ISO/IEC20000-1:2018-certified IT Service Management System that is focused on IT service management.
These standards make up the distinct components of our IMS, which are the quality, health and safety, environmental, and information technology management processes that apply to all Stantec operations.
ISO9001 Quality Management
Stantec’s quality management practices have been adopted to help reduce the risk and consequences of design errors, improve productivity and efficiency, promote the quality and reliability of our services, improve financial performance of our operations, increase client confidence and loyalty, and support regulatory compliance. This also helps introduce new employees to our practices for planning, managing people, client satisfaction, practice management, managing subconsultants, and continual improvement.ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management
ISO 45001:2018 has been adopted by Stantec to help us safeguard the occupational health and safety of our employees, develop practices to support planned or performed work-related activities, monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and advance safety performance commitments consistent with the Company's HSSE policy. The scope of our occupational health and safety certification is the management of health and safety risks associated with our office and fieldwork activities.ISO14001 Environmental Management
The scope of our environmental management certification is the management of environmental risks associated with our office and fieldwork activity. To measure the environmental aspects of our operations, we gather information on energy usage, paper consumption, business travel, and waste generation. This also provides us the ability to compile carbon reporting data. We then compare our performance with available benchmarking data from relevant comparative organizations to see where we can improve.ISO27001 IT Security Management
Our ISO 27001 certified Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework focuses on managing information security risk to clients and employees, as well as protecting financial data. This standard guides how we protect employee and client data, increase cyber-attack resilience, respond to security threats, and reduce costs. Stantec’s integrated platform allows the organization to seamlessly align newly acquired businesses to its ISMS, ensuring any new operating locations are also certified.We're better together
