Stantec experts examine how pumped storage can be an ideal solution at mine sites
In the latest Issue of Mining Magazine, Stantec experts discuss mining towards renewable energy. Don Erpenbeck (Global sector market lead), Mark Cordell (Dams & Hydropower Lead—Australia), and Craig Scott (Hydropower and Dams Sector Leader—UK & Europe) were the main authors of the article which focuses on developing former mine sites into pumped storage projects. In a time when the efficient use of energy resources is a significant societal demand, pumped storage offers the reliability that grid operators rely on.
