Meet Melissa Brunning, a senior structural designer in our Mining, Minerals & Metals group and based in Perth. Her creativity flows both underwater and in the design studio.

Melissa shares how modelling complex structures feels like meditation—an immersive process that sparks her imagination much like her passion for spearfishing and freediving.

Melissa’s story is about balance, creativity, and living a full life. That’s whether she’s working on large-scale projects, like the Tull conveyor system, or earning a national championship medal in freediving.

Melissa is a senior structural designer with Stantec’s Mining, Minerals and Metals group. She creates 3D models and 2D drawings for safe, efficient delivery of mining infrastructure including conveyors, platforms, and equipment supports.
