Natalie Muir Appointed President of Consult Australia
Stantec’s Natalie Muir has spent decades delivering sustainable water solutions, and now she’ll keep Australia’s infrastructure flowing.

Consult Australia has appointed Stantec’s Natalie Muir as its President. Consult Australia is the leading industry association representing consulting businesses in the built and natural environment sector. As Stantec Australia’s Regional Director for Water, and with more than 25 years’ experience in the water and environment sectors, Natalie brings a wealth of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a passion for sustainable solutions to her new role.
‘Consult Australia is a strong voice for our sector, and I want to make a contribution to that work,’ she says. ‘I am honoured to represent its diverse membership and to champion the role of consultants in delivering infrastructure that enriches lives and supports a sustainable future.’
Natalie’s appointment follows two years on the Consult Australia board, most recently as Vice President. She also sits on the FIDIC Sustainable Development Committee, advising the global consulting engineering industry on advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
She believes engineers are some of the world’s great problem solvers. ‘Policymakers may set targets, but it’s engineers, architects and scientists who turn those targets into outcomes,’ she says. ‘We have an incredible role to play in making sure infrastructure is appropriate, supports carbon abatement and climate adaption, and creates liveable cities and communities for future generations.’
