Winner of nine major industry awards, Murdoch Square in Perth, Australia brings together health, residential, commercial and public areas across five buildings in one connected precinct. The 80,000-square-metre mixed-use healthcare precinct showcases what’s possible when sustainability is embedded early in the project lifecycle—and carried through to delivery—rather than added as an afterthought.
Stantec's Sustainability team delivered measurable outcomes across energy, water, materials and indoor environment quality. Murdoch Square has achieved 35 percent overall energy reduction, 28 percent water savings and 17 percent embodied carbon reduction. More than 60 percent of the total embodied carbon emissions have been offset by nature-based carbon credits, and more than 90 percent of construction and demolition waste was diverted from landfill.
