Mike Jorgensen

Senior Principal, Hydrogeologist

Photo of Mike

Mike’s a senior principal hydrogeologist with over 30 years of industry experience in designing and undertaking geological and environmental investigations. He’s worked on contaminated land and groundwater projects all over the globe. A natural problem solver, Mike uses a range of models to simulate site surface-water and groundwater conditions to evaluate mitigation measures, dewatering rates, and disposal options.

He’s evaluated the potential impact of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at defense sites, assessed impacts of construction dewatering for sewer and tunneling projects, conducted environmental assessments for property developments, and provided technical guidance for proposals and projects. Preparing a project-wide groundwater management plan for the North East Link Early Works package and undertaking the independent verification of a proposed ground water recharge scheme for the Westgate Tunnel project in Melbourne, Victoria were highlights.

When he’s not at work, you’ll find Mike spending time with his family—especially traveling to Vietnam to visit family and trying exotic food. He enjoys gardening with his wife, reading non-fiction on various science and maths topics, and listening to an eclectic mix of music from the 1960s to 80s.
