With experience across correctional facilities and residential apartment towers, Tony is a fire protection engineer who specialises in designing hydrant, sprinkler, detection and occupant warning systems. His interest in engineering grew from his involvement with the Country Fire Authority and his father’s work in Fire Rescue Victoria, combined with a natural interest in solving technical problems.
Tony takes a practical approach to fire safety, balancing building code requirements with the realities of each project. He starts by understanding the end goal, whether that means addressing concerns around false alarms, water-sensitive equipment or physical installation constraints. He works with clients, architects, contractors, building surveyors, and fire authorities to find safe, compliant solutions. He particularly enjoys projects where unusual technical requirements or site limitations call for creative problem solving.
Outside of work, Tony is tackling an ambitious home renovation in between running and cycling.
