Over 40 years in structural and civil engineering, contract administration, and project management, Gerry has experienced a tremendous range of projects. These include the development, design, and delivery of roadways, interlocking block pavements, sealed and unsealed access roads and airstrips, subdivisions, water supply, and sewerage to individual facilities, as well as reticulation of services within defence facilities and Aboriginal communities.
Currently a group leader for the Northern Territory, he understands the challenges of providing multi-disciplinary services in remote areas. Some projects he is especially proud of include the delivery of facilities for the Department of Defence and the management of a variety of Indigenous housing and infrastructure projects in the Northern Territory, and Western Australia. He was an active member of the Alliance Management Team of the New Futures Alliance which delivered over 500 new houses and infrastructure upgrades valued at over $570 million in remote Indigenous communities throughout the Northern Territory. He also managed the civil design team for the Larrakeyah Defence Precinct Redevelopment Program.
Outside of his work, Gerry likes to relax by spending time with his grandchildren, undertaking various DIY activities inside and outside of the home, and riding his bike on the cycle path network around the Darwin suburbs.
