Louise plays a key role in monitoring the rehabilitation of land that follows mining activities. Spending much of her time in the field, she collects and evaluates data on vegetation, soils, erosion, and ecosystem health. She then provides feedback and recommendations on how the rehabilitation is progressing.
From being on-site working alongside her colleagues and sharing knowledge, Louise also enjoys statistics, data analysis and finding innovative ways to interpret the data. The results then support evidence-based decision making for our clients.
Once mining operations have finished, Louise is passionate about restoring the land, while progressing towards closure objectives and regulatory requirements. And, for the community, her work helps make sure the land is being responsibly managed and restored for future generations.
Outside of work, Louise stays active through hockey and Pilates, and she loves a good book. Currently dabbling in two new hobbies—sourdough baking and crocheting—family time and training her puppy also gives Louise much joy.
