Dr. Erin Thomas

Associate, Senior PAM Project Technical Lead

Photo of Dr. Erin

As a team lead, Erin manages and oversees a range of aquatic and subterranean ecology projects primarily in the mining industry across Australia. She strives to build a high performing team who share a passion for managing the world’s aquatic and subterranean ecosystems.

The key focus of Erin’s work is contributing to the development of knowledge on biota in aquatic and subterranean systems—she has a keen interest in the biodiversity associated with harsh environments such as the salt lakes and groundwater systems of arid areas. A career highlight was working on aquatic and subterranean fauna assessments for Lake Mackay, a large salt lake which hosts Australia’s largest sulphate of potash deposit. The work provided an increased understanding of the environmental values of this remote system.

Outside of work, Erin enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, and has recently taken up karate.
