Basketball Court Facility

Basketball’s popularity isn’t just dribbling along in Australia, it’s growing by leaps and bounds. When Basketball ACT and ACT Sport and Recreation Services wanted to provide athletes with a facility to meet International Basketball Federation (FIBA) standards, our sports facility experts took to the court.

We worked with the Association, Basketball Australia and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) to deliver a top-level playing experience. Designed for the popular 3-on-3 competition format, the court features innovative surface paving and drainage to allow using the popular Power Game™ temporary flooring tiles as a permanent solution, pioneered for the first time in Australia. The surface can also accommodate para-athletics using wheelchairs.

With 3-on-3 basketball making its Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the game is only growing more popular. Athletes of all levels can now get a taste of playing on an Olympic quality court. And now, with this new facility, Canberra can host local, national and FIBA certified competitions. Every project has challenges, but this one ended up a slam-dunk.
