Concord Repatriation General Hospital Schematic Design

Located within an expanding catchment area, the redevelopment of Concord Repatriation General Hospital (CRGH) was a critical infrastructure project to improve and replace outmoded facilities and meet clinical services demands for the next 10 years. Our team was there to help make it happen.

Our acoustics, electrical, fire protection, hydraulics, information communications and technology, and mechanical and vertical transportation teams were involved at different stages of this hospital project. Existing facilities were replaced or updated, and significant heritage features were highlighted to reflect CRGH’s wartime history. In addition to a purpose-built and integrated cancer care centre with inpatient services, CRGH features a “Hospital Street” atrium at the interface for the new and existing buildings. Bridge links within the atrium provide connectivity for patient transfers and goods between the buildings.

Now complete, the hospital will help provide the community with a comprehensive range of specialty and sub-specialty services such as burns, palliative care, aged care, gastroenterology, colorectal surgery, and laparoscopic surgery.
