South East Queensland’s rail network upgrade program included the upgrade of Dinmore and Graceville commuter stations to improve accessibility, amenity and safety. Involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, our electrical, mechanical, sustainability and transport consultants were set objectives to increase connectivity around the precinct, address wayfinding and signage issues and ensure compliance with current legislation.
Following an audit and compliance review of existing services, we designed a major upgrade of the Low Voltage (LV) power infrastructure, including supply, switchboards and distribution, plus inground power, crossing cable reticulation and all related works. This involved isolation of the rail network’s systems from the main grid. A mixture of mechanical and natural ventilation was provided at each station precinct and new cabling, lighting and controls were integrate with the operations centre for comms and security.
Our compliant services design duly improved accessibility, amenity and safety requirements and enhanced passenger comfort whilst allowing any future works to be completed without interruption to the commuter line operations.
