Expanding to support the community

With a growing demand for care, Epworth Hospital needed to upgrade and expand—that’s where we came in.

The redevelopment of Epworth Hospital will allow the facility further to support the surrounding community that relies on it. The project includes extension and modifications to existing buildings, and development of 11 levels of new buildings in four main stages. This includes an emergency department, intensive care unit, operating theatres, a gait lab, radiotherapy/imaging, wards, consulting suites, and auditoriums. Expansion works include new circulation, life strategies and fire protection systems. Upgrade and consolidation of the existing fire infrastructure was strategically timed to remove any requirement for redundant work, saving significant time and cost for the client. The vertical transportation solution minimises significant changes to the existing lifts whilst maximising efficiency of the final lifting arrangement.

Upon completion, the facility will enable the provision of additional services for the community, ensuring health care is received faster and at an improved quality.
