Hollywood Private Hospital, Operating Theatre

Hollywood Private Hospital (HPH) is the preferred venue in Western Australia for a number of specialist surgeons, driving an expansion of its surgical service offerings. Stantec’s Buildings engineering teams helped design the hydraulic, fire and mechanical services for six operating theatres and all associated facilities, in a purpose-built five storey building.

A siphonic stormwater disposal system and central hot water plant with warm water loops was developed for the new building, and our hydraulics team also recommended an upgrade to the existing fire ring main on site.  Our fire engineers advised on the fire hydrant and hose reel provision as well as EWIS and fire detection systems. New mechanical plant included air handling units, hot water and exhaust fans, with additional plant such as air-cooled chillers, smoke and kitchen exhausts located on the plantroom roof. All work was completed to comply with Section J standards.

Stantec’s team was subsequently involved in designing the Anne Leach Wing expansion to this new building, to accommodate an additional four theatre suites to achieve HPH’s objectives in providing high quality private healthcare facilities.
