With a goal of supporting a more resilient, reliable, and lower-emissions energy system for Palau, we have been appointed by the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific (AIFFP) to provide client-side project management services for the Palau Renewable Energy Integration Project.
The project aims to strengthen and modernise Palau’s electricity network to support the safe and efficient integration of more renewable energy, build on existing solar infrastructure, and reduce reliance on imported diesel generation.
Our specialised teams in Australia, New Zealand and Canada are working in collaboration with the AIFFP and Palau to better understand local conditions and support the project’s technical complexity and overall successful delivery. The grant-funded program is expected to include staged grid upgrades, network and control system modifications, and planning for future battery storage to improve system stability and enable greater use of renewable energy. Across the project life cycle, the team are coordinating delivery, managing interfaces, and guiding the program through key implementation stages.
The project reflects Australia’s regional climate change commitment in the Pacific, supporting clean energy goals ahead of its’ role as co-host of the Conference of the Parties (COP31). COP31 is a gathering of countries that are party to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
