Rouse Hill Town Centre – Stage 2

Bringing the core of a Sydney suburb to life, Rouse Hill Town Centre is a big idea—a mixed-use centre where people can live, work, and play. Blending commercial, civic, and residential interests, recent redevelopment has included a public library, a community centre, communal gathering spaces, and housing for the local community. Two residential buildings are under construction and will sit over the retail space with an accompanying two levels of underground car parking.

Our challenge? Significant site service upgrades were required for the leisure and entertainment building. We provided the design for mechanical services that included design of the building management and control system, air conditioning and cooling systems, localised heating plant, and ventilation. Innovative methods fostered creative solutions—our team used modelling predictions of heat and carbon monoxide emitted from moving cars in the underground car park. We used three-dimensional reality capture to complete a scan of the existing areas and assisted in coordinating and installing new water chiller equipment.

Real-time rendering is an important stepping-stone in making the design process better—by providing major control to the client during the presentation and breaking the continuous chain of just trial and feedback without satisfaction and running out of resources, time, and money.
