Seqwater Natural Asset Management

Downstream quality and reliability of drinking water begins with the upstream management of source water catchments. Our client, Seqwater, asked our Asset Strategies team to conduct a needs analysis on how they should manage these important natural assets.

By developing an approach to source protection of natural assets applied from built asset management principles, we demonstrated the need for formalised asset management of natural assets. Options analysis also showed how adapting the Seqwater asset management framework to their natural assets was the preferred means to provide this more formalised asset management.

Our collaboration with Seqwater led to an operational plan that prioritised deliverables and estimated timings to implement improved maturity of natural assets asset management. As the bulk water provider for southeast Queensland and into northern New South Wales, Seqwater knows the provision of safe and reliable drinking water for more than three million people is simply essential.
