Vicinity was looking to roll out a 32MW solar capacity system across 20 major shopping centres throughout Australia. This would align with their vision to help create more energy-resilient communities by reducing their energy consumption and carbon footprint.
Our team was engaged to review and perform the design, network, construction, inspection, safety, and compliance obligations. As the stores presented a mix of equipment ranging in both high and low voltage connections, one of the challenges faced was the various utility and power authorities that needed to be engaged. Our local and interstate colleagues accomplished the critical co-ordination of knowledge and activities needed to achieve the performance requirements of the various store systems and maintain consistent service quality. The resulting solution provides on-site energy storage and the means to use any of the excess solar energy generated on site.
Upon completion, our contribution to this giant solar energy program has been recognised with awards acknowledging innovation that creates a significant advancement and improvement within the property industry that is also replicable.
