Wat Thai Buddharam - Engineering Design

In Forestdale, south of Brisbane, a long‑held community vision has become a reality. Wat Thai Buddharam is a Theravada Thai Buddhist temple and monastery created to support cultural, spiritual, and community life across South East Queensland.

We began working with the community in 2017, supporting the project from early development through to completion and opening in March 2026. Funded by the community and delivered over several years, the project reflects a shared commitment between the client, project team, and those who supported it along the way.

Our team provided structural, civil, electrical, and building hydraulic design and construction inspection services. Coordination across disciplines helped shape a place that meets practical needs while honouring cultural expression. The architecture draws on traditional Thai influences, requiring close collaboration among all team members to translate detailed and symbolic forms into buildable solutions that are best suited to a local Australian climate.

Today, the temple provides spaces for meditation, ceremonies, learning, and community gatherings. It welcomes people of all backgrounds and supports outreach across the region, offering spiritual guidance, cultural connection, and social support.
