Balclutha Iwikatea

The Clutha River is the largest by volume in New Zealand, and it flows through our town. We’ve also got the nearly 150-year-old Balclutha Road Bridge, and the Main Trunk Railway. These landmarks are representative of the transportation services we offer.

We’ve served the area since 1971, working alongside Clutha District Council to help maintain its 3,000-kilometre roading network. In recent years, we’ve developed concept designs for a main street upgrade and we’ve helped extend the useful life of roads through innovative top surface treatments. We also developed a walking and cycling strategy to identify trends and risks, and move forward works to increase efficiency and safety for people on our streets.
