Using sustainability criteria to lower costs and retain tenants
Clients choose BREEAM certification because it helps them cost-effectively deliver and validate the sustainability value of their assets to an internationally recognized and robust standard—tried and tested since it was first launched in 1990.
When Value Retail Ltd. set out to adopt a BREEAM scheme to certify their assets across China during planning, design, construction, operation, or refurbishment, they planned to help benchmark and improve their sustainability performance, lower running costs, maximize returns through market value, and attract and retain tenants. Our job? We’re working as a partner to BEE Incorporation who has signed a primary contract with Value Retail to provide support on the BREEAM certification.
This project is comprised of three sites, including Suzhou Village Phase1 & Phase 2 and Shanghai Village. Suzhou Phase 2 is a new construction with a development size of 34,700 square metres (373,508 square feet) and the other two sites are already in operation with a development size of 64,852 square metres (698,061 square feet) and 55,607 square metres (598,549 square feet) respectively. We’ve been commissioned to provide the BREEAM consultancy service to Value Retail’s Suzhou and Shanghai Site.
When completed, this BREEAM certification will help Value Retail Ltd. improve their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
