Stantec selected to Melbourne Water panel

Panel members to deliver on Water and Sewerage Capital Works Program

Stantec, a global engineering, consulting, architecture and construction firm, together with joint venture partners RCR Tomlinson Ltd and Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure has been appointed to a three-year Framework Agreement with Melbourne Water. The Stantec and partners’ Joint Venture will deliver a range of design and construct, construct-only, and design-only projects for Melbourne Water’s Water and Sewerage Capital Works Program.

Selection criteria for the appointment went beyond traditional engineering expertise, approach to safety, capability and cost approach. Applicants were also judged on their commitment to business integrity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation. The social procurement model adopted by Melbourne Water aligns strongly with Stantec’s values.

'We listen to and design for the distinct needs of our clients and customers—and those who live and work in the communities we serve,' said Stantec’s General Manager for the company’s Australian water business, Ashok Sukumaran. 'We draw on our local, national and global network of talented water professionals to build the right team for each project.  We knew we had the technical expertise and the additional selection criteria proved a great test of our corporate social responsibility.’

Melbourne Water’s Capital Works Program is worth approximately $500 million over the initial three-year period of the framework, with a possible seven-year extension. Stantec and partners have called the Joint Venture 'Safety Focused Performance Joint Venture' (SFP JV).  SFP JV will share the capital delivery program with one other preferred service provider.
