European leaders meet Australian counterparts at milestone event in Brussels

In the week of November 18th, the Stantec team in Belgium together with consortium partners organized a series of events to bring together emerging and senior leaders from the European Union and Australia. The cornerstone event in Brussels is part of the EU-Australia Leadership Forum, a three-year project that is funded by the European Union and supported by the Government of Australia, aiming to broaden and deepen the existing ties between the EU and Australia.

The European and Australian leaders from government, business, media, academia and civil society gathered in Brussels to take part in the five-day Forum that brought together over 150 movers & shakers, policymakers, business leaders, young innovators, scholars and journalists to help shape the future of the relationship between the two regions.

Christophe Leroy, Operations Director for Stantec in Belgium: “The event is taking place at a pivotal time for relations between the EU and Australia, as they are working towards framework and trade agreements to improve the ways of working together. We were happy and proud to welcome high-level guests such as Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy  and Vice-President of the Commission, Herman Van Rompuy, President Emeritus of the European Council and former Prime Minister of Belgium, and Michael Pulch, the Ambassador of the European Union to Australia. It’s an honor to facilitate this important process of integration between the two regions.”
