Photo of Amanda

Amanda works at the intersection of mining and water, focused on the design of tailing storage dams all over the world. Her design experience spans all phases of project development from siting studies to feasibility, detailed design to construction, and everything in between. As a project manager, Amanda has a knack for bringing together the perfect mix of technical disciplines required for dam design to exceed client expectations.

Her passion for tailing dam projects has been driven by more than eight years of experience working on two tailing storage dams at the Cerro Verde Mine in Arequipa, Peru. Her involvement has spanned all aspects of the projects including siting studies, engineering analyses, emergency action plans, and concepts for closure.

Not just a leader in the technical field, Amanda is passionate about sharing her love of geology and promoting careers for women in engineering. She was the young professional vice-chair of the USSD Committee on Tailing Dams and is now chair of the committee. She is a past president and vice president of the Denver chapter of Women in Mining and is currently chair of the National Annual Meeting Planning Committee.

In 2012, Amanda was awarded the Top 5 Most Influential Young Professional in Colorado, selected from hundreds of nominees in all career fields, not just engineering.
