Harriet has a broad range of professional experience as a design architect. She brought her experience to Stantec in 2005 as part of an acquisition. Her expertise comes from experience dealing with culturally diverse groups and an assortment of building types. She has been involved in the design of educational facilities, recreational facilities, health care facilities, places of worship and feasibility studies.
Harriet's work includes major additions, renovations, as well as new construction. Of this work, Harriet says that her favorite project “varies”. She likes several projects for different reasons. Two of her favorites are St. Jude’s Cathedral in Iqaluit and Piqqusilirivvik in Clyde River.
In addition to her passion for well-designed culturally significant buildings, Harriet is a well-respected jeweler and has experience and education in community and international development. An extensive education, her background also includes a Bachelor of Arts and Education. With this, she has taught in Povungnirtung Arctic Quebec.
Harriet also possesses a black belt in Judo and has been named a past Atlantic champion...but she says that’s “all ancient history.” Nowadays, when she is not working on a project she enjoys sea kayaking, yoga, hiking, camping and dancing.
