A project manager with over 10 years of experience, Gizem is proficient in air quality, greenhouse gases (GHG), climate change, and sustainability projects. She’s worked with government and industrial clients providing them with research, sustainability plans, environmental assessments, inventories, and GHG verifications.
With Gizem’s extensive experience in sustainability, she works on projects like the peer review for Environment and Climate Change Canada’s GHG emissions from waste for the National Inventory Report. The purpose of the peer review was to help Environment Canada improve the National GHG Inventory Report.
Gizem lends her expertise to the communities that she lives in and has been active in Sustainable Waterloo Region’s Regional Carbon Initiative, having served on its technical advisory committee and facilitated Stantec’s involvement as a member. Currently, Gizem is the project manager for a GHG mitigation project for the City of Waterloo. The project goals surpass regulatory requirements in the effort to reduce emissions. And this project is in Gizem’s own neighborhood!
