Richard’s key objective within the Transmission and Distribution group is to provide quality driven, client-focused solutions. His typical responsibilities include proposal development, project and resource planning, client meetings, and technical deliverable reviews.
With more than 15 years of experience, Richard’s expertise encompasses overhead and underground projects in an engineering or project management capacity—greenfield, brownfield, conductor evaluations, conductor/cable ratings, customer relocations, feasibility studies, and routing/siting analyses—for projects ranging from 4kV to 500kV.
Recently, Richard and his team were instrumental in proposing mitigation alternatives for a brand new high-speed rail paralleling their transmission project. Since engineering practices are focused around the safety of the public, Richard helped bring in technical expertise within other Stantec groups to perform additional electrical studies to help all parties make an educated decision to determine a path forward.
Outside of work, Richard enjoys a variety of outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and three kids. Many of those activities include a swimming pool, as his eldest two kids are competitive swimmers.
