Medical facilities must change. As our population ages and while hospitals continue to run deficits, people like Barry are looking for ways to improve how we deliver healthcare. With more than 30 years of planning, managing, and developing major capital projects, Barry looks forward for challenges and designs solutions today.
As a senior principal, Barry has led the development of master plans, design briefs, strategic capital asset plans, and functional programs for numerous public and private sector clients through Western Canada. He’s incorporated lean process improvements and given talks promoting the restructure of healthcare facilities.
Barry focuses on the integration of operations and service delivery to create efficient, inherently flexible buildings. His recent work includes design for the Calgary Health Region and the University of Calgary, and he has a strong interest in rural healthcare and the integration of primary care with acute and long term care services.
