As President of MWH Constructors, Blair is responsible for Global Construction Operations of nearly 2,200 employees, including MWH Constructors and Slayden in the United States, UK Operations under Stantec Treatment, special projects in Israel and the Manufactured Equipment, Products & Solutions fabrication facility in Ireland. In addition, the construction operation has nearly 300 designers primarily servicing design-build opportunities globally.
Lavoie brings more than 30 years of engineering and construction experience on a broad range of municipal, industrial and federal projects. Blair’s long experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of the water infrastructure industry and its future possibilities; in fact, he played a key role in shaping the construction industry’s adoption of alternative project delivery models, including design-build and CMAR. Currently, he is responsible for more than $1 billion (USD) in traditional and alternative delivery projects. Blair takes full advantage of his experience, leadership qualities and creativity to keep MWH Constructors in a positive cycle of sustainable growth.
Blair received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Norwich University in 1984, where he served on the engineering Board of Fellows for several years. He also graduated from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina and Vermont, as well as a licensed general contractor in Florida, Arizona, Nevada and South Carolina. Blair has prepared and presented numerous publications and case studies on topics such as quality management, partnering, construction management, alternative project delivery, and claims avoidance and resolution.
