With over 10 years of experience, Gentry is an expert at managing public space projects characterized by complex interdisciplinary work. She takes them from inception to conclusion, producing high quality technical project documents and assuring design integrity during construction.
Gentry’s projects bring communities together in dense urban cities, enhance social sustainability, and create more livable neighborhoods. Her ability to collaborate successfully with public agencies is evident in the major projects she has led, among them the Coney Island Infrastructure and Streetscape project and the Governors’ Island Slide Hill.
Governors’ Island Slide Hill is exemplary of Gentry’s work, involving coordination and technical expertise. The design-build project, a small part of a much larger Governors Island project, includes four man-made hills, each with a slide and rock and timber slopes, beautifully merging into the natural setting. It’s home to NYC’s longest slide—at 36 feet high!
