Jake is a New England sector lead, project manager, and certified ecologist with over 16 years of experience in endangered freshwater aquatic species and fish habitats. His ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and agencies of diverse backgrounds enables him to build effective project teams. Jake is an invaluable partner to our clients, as he brings scientific expertise to develop solutions that meet both project goals and agency requirements.

Jake worked collaboratively with the US Forest Service (USFS) after they proposed a sizable timber harvest in Western Maine. On behalf of a local stakeholder group, and to address concerns about potential impacts on fish and streams, he conducted and presented the results of a study of forested buffer widths effect on fish and designed a three-year electrofishing study in the watershed. Together, with local stakeholder volunteers and USFS biologists, Jake’s team was able to monitor and determine baseline fish populations prior to logging operations.
