Laura has been dedicated to educational facility design for more than 15 years. Her passion for continued learning—and the sharing of that knowledge with others—has inspired her to speak at numerous conferences (both state and national), including the CEFPI International LearningScapes Conference. She’s also presented for professional organizations and in higher education classes on topics such as innovative learning environments and how sustainable design solutions can benefit the end users of a building

Active in the sustainability movement for educational facilities, Laura was a member of the Texas Collaborative for High Performance Schools (TX-CHPS) Advisory Committee which brought the CHPS rating system to Texas. CHPS is a national movement that aims to improve student performance and educational experiences by building the best possible schools. Laura continues her involvement though her position on the TX-CHPS Leadership Committee.

Laura believes that impactful design comes from a culture of learning and is committed to innovation in education through continual discovery. She leads the Stantec Research and Benchmarking (R+B) program which inspires and supports learning by constantly researching best practices and applying this knowledge to our design process. In 2014, Laura was named the Young Architect of the Year by the Houston AIA, and in 2017, she was named to Engineering News-Record's national Top 20 Under 40.
