Russ specializes in the execution of complex, large-scale highway and interchange improvement projects through all phases of design. He understands that highway design is not just about pavement and geometrics—it’s about the travelling community. Russ works with clients and the community to make sure that each design best serves the need and is compatible with the surrounding environment.
As project manager during both the value engineering and preliminary design of the Route 46, Route 3, Valley Road, and Notch Road Interchanges projects, Russ championed that collaborative approach, creating design solutions that were tailored to the needs of the travelling public.
He’s also been key to our work with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s (NJTA) on-call engineering needs. Calling on three decades of experience with the client, Russ has taken the overall responsibility for all of our Stantec team work. He’s the primary point of contact with the NJTA, and he manages our teams, monitors budgets and schedules, and brings in executive management and technical support as needed.
Going forward, Russ’s goals are to find innovative and effective ways to lead our New England and Tri-State region’s Transportation teams. He’s also a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey (ACECNJ), having chaired the NJ Turnpike Authority committee for two years. Plus, he’s helped to organize ACECNJ’s Engineering Exchange, a workshop designed to bring consultants and Authority staff together so they can share knowledge and open dialogue. Outside of work, you’ll probably find him cooking for and entertaining friends and family.
