In more than 20 years as a structural engineer, Christian has amassed a diverse range of capabilities, designing steel and concrete structures, above or below grade. Having worked on subway jobs such as South Ferry and Court Square 2 as well as bridges such as Crane Road Bridge and the Ohio River Bridges, he’s developed a well-deserved reputation for successfully managing both public and private sector projects of all sizes.

Among his most memorable, challenging, and rewarding projects was designing the new South Ferry subway station in lower Manhattan. Though damaged by Superstorm Sandy, the station design overcame multiple complexities, such as fitting a structural box between existing tracks and utilities. To get this design-build job done and address all the challenges, the team expended a huge effort, often working 80-hour weeks.

Christian was energized by this project: proud to see it materialize into a beautiful station that was recognized with multiple awards.
