Engineers of Record (EOR) oversee all aspects of a tailings storage facility and need a varied and specialized skillset. Adoption of the role has increased in recent years, thanks in part to the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management, which requires EOR on certain tailings projects.
Stantec’s Sam Abbaszadeh, Tailings and Waste Technical Practice Lead, and Amanda Adams, Principal, Mining, Minerals, and Metals, were featured in Global Mining Review (GRM) whey they share their career paths in tailings and why they like the industry so much.
