For the last decade or so, Australia’s property industry has predominantly focused on operational emissions. But embodied carbon – the sum of greenhouse gas emissions released during a building’s entire lifecycle – has been largely overlooked.

Measuring your full carbon footprint is a fundamental starting point to understanding your risk exposure, and it can’t be about ticking a box to attract investors. Measuring – and then managing emissions – ensures your business is risk-prepared and can survive in a future climate.
