In the Australian mining industry, there is increasing demand for proper mine closure and rehabilitation. In 2020, statutory guidelines for mining proposals and mine closure plans finally changed in Australia, with tighter measures put in place.
Stantec’s specialist in mine closure, Phillip Crouse, and Kim Bennett took part in Engineers Australia’s Thought Leaders Series to discuss how mining companies are sustainably closing and rehabilitating mines.
