Nathan Ashcroft talks with Indian Cement Review about how carbon capture solutions can reduce emissions for the cement industry

Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) is one of the key components of the energy transition. On one hand, we are developing renewable energy solutions that can generate green power and reduce our reliance on traditional fossil fuels. On the other, we are looking for ways to lessen the carbon footprint of our conventional energy infrastructure. This is especially true for industries like cement manufacturing, where it is hard to abate the carbon.
Nathan Ashcroft, Stantec’s director of Low-Carbon Solutions, was interviewed by Indian Cement Review. It is India’s only business magazine for the cement industry. The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities of integrating CCUS into cement manufacturing. In the article, Ashcroft highlights key points of CCUS. These include:
