Presenter James Obermeyer summarizes the collaborative design and construction process of a new tailings storage facility at the Cerro Verde mine that took place from 2008 to 2015.
The close partnership between the designer/engineer of record Stantec, the mine owner and operator Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde S.A.A., and its majority shareholder Freeport-McMoRan Inc. facilitated a robust design and efficient project execution. They continue to partner on the operational construction to rigorously achieve design expectations.
