Project delivery, modernization, and more with Dena Abakumov

Stantec’s Dena Abakumov recently spoke with METRO Magazine to share her perspective on capital project delivery in the US and Canada
With a passion for creating great communities that influence social interaction, Dena Abakumov serves as transit & rail sector lead for Stantec. While working on some of the largest transit projects in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Chicago, she has strengthened her expertise in the sector while managing and working with large teams across Canada and the US.
Most recently, Abakumov relocated to Chicago as one of the key segment leads on the CTA Red and Purple Modernization Project. METRO Magazine’s Executive Editor, Alex Roman got a chance to speak with Dena Abakumov about capital project delivery, the differences between projects in the US and Canada, and much more.

Dena believes that transit networks are one of the pillars of developing healthy, sustainable, resilient, and prosperous communities. She looks at transportation solutions in a multidisciplinary way and takes a multi-modal approach to her work.
