April 13, 2023

Stantec’s experts are leading the dialog on industry trends, emerging technology, and best practices to confront water’s most pressing challenges

Hear from Stantec experts as they discuss leading-edge technologies and one water approaches from communities around the world, ask questions, and fulfill your professional development hours.

Each webinar will last for one hour and those in attendance will receive a certificate to submit for professional development hours or continuing education units.

Upcoming webinars:

September 21: The Water Industry’s Important Contribution to a Circular Economy

By 2030, the world is projected to face a 40% water deficit and major shortages in this finite resource. A circular economy establishes a more sustainable model of production and consumption in which raw materials can be used repeatedly, thereby generating much less waste and, in turn, curbing greenhouse gas emissions. The implementation of a circular economy to harness the value of water through reuse and recovery is fundamental to solve future challenges.

Today, less than 10% of the world's economy is circular, and the water industry has a role to play in increasing that percentage. Join Nicole Boulay and Caroline Samberger as they share ideas and examples of how the water industry can contribute to the circular economy through water reuse and resource recovery.

Date: Thursday, September 21
Time: 12:00-1:00 pm ET
Presenters: Caroline Samberger, Nicolle Boulay

October 25: Sustainable design and development of large diameter water tunnels

Dig in with Stantec’s tunneling leaders to learn about tunnel design in the context of past, present, and future water tunnels in North America. Attendees will learn about the realities of today's large diameter projects including:

  • Geotechnical and geologic/hydrogeologic characterization
  • Geotechnical Baseline Reports (GBRs) and risk
  • Precast Concrete Tunnel Lining (PCTL) segments and design considerations
  • Construction impact assessments, instrumentation, and monitoring
  • Large diameter tunnel construction in urban environments

Tune in to learn more from Anil Dean, Steve Fradkin, and Julian Prada as they share their experience and walk through examples of the latest in underground innovations.

Each webinar will last for one hour and those in attendance will receive a certificate to submit for professional development hours or continuing education units.

Date: Wednesday, October 25, 2023
Time: 12:00 - 1:00 pm ET
