A vision to design and deliver a first-of-its-kind water reuse program for San Diego

Pure Water San Diego is a groundbreaking water reuse program that will rely on potable reuse to deliver a safe, drought-resistant, locally controlled water supply for the City of San Diego.
Through this program, wastewater is diverted from being discharged to the ocean and instead undergoes an advanced water treatment process to create a pure, clean, potable water supply.
When complete, the city anticipates that Pure Water San Diego will produce up to half its drinking water through potable reuse, while reducing ocean discharges.
