About Conventional Production & Gathering

Our experience includes greenfield wellsite tie ins, single-well batteries, multi-well batteries, brown field gas plant additions, gas plant optimization, and compressor replacement projects. From the simplest well tie-ins to greenfield deep cut gas plants, Stantec is finding a better way. We have expertise in gas plant and oil battery projects where increasing capacity for newly found production is required. We offer:

Greenfield and Brownfield
We have proven experience in greenfield projects, but at Stantec, we also enjoy the unique challenges presented by brownfield retrofit projects. In fact, brownfield retrofits are a specialty of ours.

In mature fields, we offer process support to optimize and debottleneck facilities to allow them to process product more effectively while reducing operating cost. We also design and support gathering systems for these facilities, ranging from the addition of pigging stations and ESDV risers, extensions and line looping to new pipeline systems.

Gathering Infrastructure
Stantec offers engineering services that supports the gathering infrastructure on conventional facilities. Our expertise covers small sweet flow lines to higher pressure sour pipelines that feed batteries and plants. The addition of new gas or oil into a gathering system is always occurring; we have engineers that focus on understanding the requirements of the owner and the third party to support these tie-ins.

Management of Change
Since 2001, Stantec has been supporting clients in the execution of Management of Change (MOC) projects. In fact, we have built dedicated teams over the years for various clients to support exactly this style of work within gas plants, batteries and pipeline gatherings systems.

Turnaround Support
Stantec has provided clients with a variety of turnaround /shutdown solutions. From planning to on site liaison support during the outage, Stantec has the team. To date, Stantec has supported 9 turnarounds for three Alberta midstream sour gas plants and planned a SAGD facility shutdown.
