Stantec is deepening its partnership with Habitat for Humanity this year, building on several years of collaboration. A combination of financial contributions and volunteer participation will support Habitat’s homebuilding efforts in multiple communities.
The expanded partnership is supporting two key programs:
Indigenous Housing Partnership: With 1.8 million Indigenous people living in Canada—many without access to safe and adequate housing—this funding allows Habitat for Humanity to work alongside Indigenous communities to support housing construction, rehabilitation, and skills training for Indigenous people.
Sustainability grants: This investment helps local Habitat chapters build homes using energy-efficient approaches that improve quality of life and reduce utility costs for new homeowners. Stantec joins a growing number of Canadian companies supporting sustainable development through this program.
Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope for people around the world. This work reflects Stantec’s commitment to community in every region it serves. The Company has participated in numerous volunteer events, from Habitat Build Days to Habitat’s recent Meaning of Home initiative in Canada, a contest that invites students to share poems or essays about what home means to them. As part of that effort, 31 Stantec employees volunteered 62 hours to help judge this year’s submissions, reflecting the strong engagement our people bring to the partnership.
Habitat for Humanity remains a cornerstone of Stantec in the Community (SITC) Week, the Company’s annual volunteer effort. This year Stantec will participate in Habitat Build Days across Canada, the US, Chile, and Australia—giving more employees an opportunity to give back to their communities through this important organization.
