Stantec to oversee major work on key Quebec City Bridge

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) has selected Stantec to provide worksite supervision services for the repair, cleaning, and painting of steel structures on one of Quebec’s most recognizable bridges. The project is part of JCCBI’s ongoing Québec Bridge rehabilitation plan and focuses on strengthening steel components, as well as cleaning and painting the bracing of the span overlooking the St. Lawrence River.

The repair work, awarded to Stellaire Construction Inc., is valued at C$19.8 million and will take place from April to December 2026. Stantec’s mandate includes worksite supervision and coordination, traffic maintenance, signage, and environmental services. Given the presence of railway tracks on the bridge, Stantec’s services involve rail knowledge earmarked to support the project as required.

Stantec is delivering design, rehabilitation, and bridge and structure inspection services across Canada. Stantec’s bridge team has led similar mandates for some of North America’s most important bridges, including the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge deck replacement program in Halifax.
