Stantec’s work and professionals in Arctic Canada honored with six awards

Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists awards recognize industry excellence in the North

The Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (NAPEG) has recognized Stantec with six award wins in 2026. The awards honor engineers, geoscientists, and science educators from across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut for their outstanding contributions to professional excellence, community service, and environmental leadership.

Stantec’s 2026 award recipients are:

  • Distinguished Life Member: Walter Orr
  • Professional Services: Arlen Foster
  • Community Service: Isaac Freda 
  • Member-in-Training: Jenna Orr
  • Professional Award of Merit: Trout River Bridge Rehabilitation Project
  • Award of Environmental Excellence: Coral Harbour Rehabilitation (Nunami Stantec) 

“This year’s award recipients have demonstrated how innovation is being applied in real and practical ways across the North,” said Kamran Ata, P.Eng., chairperson of the NAPEG Education Foundation and president of NAPEG. “From infrastructure and environmental stewardship to education and community leadership, this year’s recipients are making a meaningful impact in their fields and communities.”
